Sei! [Sep. 16th, 2009|02:26 am]
Big Man Japan.

Kevin and I started it not really knowing what it would be about, had the patience to sit through the slow start, and by the end of the movie we were crying with laughter. Or at least I was.

I can't even describe what happens in this movie. Suffice to say, it goes way off in a crazy direction with hilarious results.

Tonight I learned that the more drunk I get, the better I am at Street Fighter. 10 win streak vs. Horatio and Lionel. Dictator FTW.

Woman Sets Self On Fire, Walks Around Mall
43-Year-Old Woman Suffers 3rd-Degree Burns

MIAMI -- A woman set herself on fire at a Miami mall Thursday, then walked around engulfed in flames as shocked shoppers watched, authorities said.

Two men and a woman who tried to help her were hurt, but not badly.

The 43-year-old woman, whose name was not released, doused herself with a flammable liquid at the Mall of the Americas, said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesman Arnold Piedrahita. She had third-degree burns over 75 percent of her body and was found conscious in a parking lot. Authorities do not know why she set herself on fire.

She was air-lifted to a hospital.

Witnesses said she was in a clothing store called Savage Boutique when it happened. Jose Morales, 24, said he was about to pay for earrings for his girlfriend at a nearby kiosk when he heard screams and thought someone had fallen.

When he turned around, he saw the blaze and realized someone was within it.

"This woman is just walking like this, super slow, completely on fire," Morales said, his arms stretched out at his side to show what the woman looked like as she walked out of the store. "You couldn't see nothing but fire."

Morales said witnesses used two fire extinguishers on the woman, who was on fire about two-and-a-half minutes. All of her clothes except her underwear disappeared into ashes.

After the fire was out, Morales said, the woman walked out of the mall and into the parking lot.

The two men injured helping her were treated at the scene while the woman who helped was taken to a hospital.

The mall remained closed as of late afternoon.

Goodbye, car! [Jul. 24th, 2009|09:59 am]
My car was just taken away by Ecology! YAAAAY! I was paid $130.00 for it, a low price to be sure, but it was the best I could barter. The fact that I no longer have that giant burden is quite refreshing!

The only hurdle left is the two tickets I got for expired registration and no proof of insurance. I'm feeling pretty confident that the fines, if any, won't be too severe. I'm glad to be coming out of this soon. It's been a nightmare.

Pop music of 2009... [Jul. 22nd, 2009|06:36 pm]
"I want to listen to something that sounds like the music I already listen to, but with different words!"

Nailed it.

Bikin'. [Jul. 7th, 2009|11:57 pm]
I rode 10.5 miles to work today! In the sun! Unfortunately I'm mostly retarded and didn't put on any sun repellent. Double unfortunately, I was wearing a backwards cap. I now look like I could audition for that 'Last Airbender' shit. But, the point is I got myself to work, and I wasn't overly exhausted. Plus the view was spectacular - the last half of the trip is along PCH.

Sufficiently lotioned, I retire to bed now. There, see? I posted.

Super cool update. [Jun. 12th, 2009|10:01 am]
I just found out I've been driving uninsured for the past 4 months. Mercury had the wrong address, but they DID have my cell number. How nice.

So I will have to go to court and, what, ask very nicely if the judge would please not suspend my license?

This feels great.

Today. [Jun. 11th, 2009|09:29 pm]
[mood |So goddamned stressed out]

Got pulled over on way to work.

Cop told me he had every right to tow my car away from me, but didn't.

My proof of insurance card was expired.

I may not, in fact, even be insured right now, but Mercury's website tells me I can only find that out between the hours of 8 am and 4:45 pm. Pretty sure I'm paid up, but why the hell wouldn't I have an up to date card?

Cop said the next time I get pulled over, my car WILL be taken from me.

Worst drive home of my life.

Won't be driving my car again for quite some time, if ever. Don't expect me to show up for things.
